Timothy Drake - Red Robin
"I thought I'd left that world behind me. That maybe I could do more good working from the shadows. Apparently I was wrong." - R.R |
BiographyMy name is now Tim Drake. From the moment I was born, my dad said I’ve practically been on the go. He said that when I first grabbed hold of his finger as a baby, I was practically pulling myself to my feet to walk. I decided to train myself, to push myself to my limits from an early age, after hearing about the Batman. I went into gymnastics, started to learn how to hack into computers, not to mention learn how computers work all together. I was preparing myself I guess some would say. I pushed myself so I could be the best. The best at school, gymnastics…everything. My parents were always there for me, and they loved me with all their heart. And I loved them. I should have spent more time with them, before they died. They always wanted to celebrate how well I did, and I always blew them off. My dad said it was all right to want more, and that I had the chance to be something like he never was. I wasn’t able to sleep that night after words.
I was always working on projects for school, and one in particular for myself. I had been attempting to know the secret identity of Batman. While Bruce had the Bat cave, I had something even before I had known his identity, his secret. I had a motorcycle and I would always drive it to the Gotham City Aviary, owned by the World History Ltd. They didn’t know I used it as my base of operations, mainly because it was completely abandoned. I came close, and one day Batman appeared before me, and told me that I had accomplished something that the world’s greatest psychopaths had tried to solve. I had noticed something wrong with Bruce Wayne around the mysterious time of disappearance of Batman’s Robin. I knew something was wrong from the instant then. I had to somehow prove to myself that Batman was Bruce Wayne. I didn’t know how I would be able to, but I knew I would. It came to my surprise to one night find Batman in the Aviary one night. He tried telling me that he had planted all the evidence. I honestly didn’t believe him. He tried telling me he wanted me to think I could find out who he was. He was three steps ahead of me, and I was just playing follow the leader. I told him that I wanted to be the new help, but he refused. He disappeared, saying I was never going to see him again. After Batman had temporarily declined my offer, I kept searching. I was going to be his partner no matter how many times he turned me down. I was sort of ambitious. I would pass through firewalls, run into dead ends, and continue researching. He kept blocking me though. So I helped in the only way I could. I hacked into bank accounts and transferred money to accounts of people who needed it. A modern day Robin Hood some would have called me. In an attempt to get Bruce’s attention, I took one hundred million dollars from the Penguin, Oswald Cobblepot. I unknowingly put my parents and myself in danger though, because almost exactly after I got home, bullets started shooting through my home from his thugs trying to kill us. Batman crashed in and I offered my help, but he once again declined. I crawled to my parents, staying with them until Bruce saved us. My parents were sent into the witness protection program, and I was sent to live with Bruce, starting my training. I became Red Robin, following in the footsteps of Dick Grayson, who was now Nightwing, and the deceased Jason Todd, who one day returned as Red Hood. I had created my own costume, slightly based from the design of Robin. I promised Bruce to do what he said, when he said it, so he wouldn’t lose another partner. I chose not to take Jason’s suit in order to preserve and honor his memory. I had left my parents, my life for this new one. I was fine with that though, it was what I had wanted, hoped for. Bruce taught me everything I didn’t know, and I thank him. A year or so later, I left. I changed my look, and left Gotham for New York. I soon started plotting against a secret organization that called themselves N.O.W.H.E.R.E. Thanks to them, I’m now leading a team of teenage metahumans, called the Teen Titans.. |
