Cassandra Elizabeth Sandsmark - Wonder Girl
"We're in this together. Because I'll always love you, Diesel. And for that love, I will endure this curse. For the both of us." - Cassie |
BiographyCassandra grew up with her mother, her father having left when she was four years old, going around from archaeological dig to the next, never settling down. While her mother was unearthing ancient treasures, Cassie was robbing them from the museums. She had always had a taste for the finger things in life. While in China, she was cornered by a guard who was knocked out by Diesel. It was 'lust at first sight,' and the pair grew very close as Diesel decided to follow Cassandra on her mother's ventures. While doing so he was seducing her to take part in a more criminal lifestyle. Cassandra would continue to rob museums of their not only ancient artifacts, but also most expensive ones, and instead of collecting them like she usually did, she gave them to Diesel so he could sell them to a fence, gaining a lot of profit. While in Cambodia on a dig, Cassie returned at night, knowing that Diesel would try to loot it, and she searched for him, finding a secret corridor he had opened. She found Diesel, the Silent Armour secured to his face. so she donned the war gauntlets in an attempt to pry it off of him. When that didn't work she spoke with the armor, convincing it that she was the better candidate, and it possessed her, nearly overwhelming her. Diesel attacked her, enraged that she had stolen his 'treasure,' but the chamber collapsed and Cassie used the armor to escape. Leaving her to think Diesel died in the accident. Afterwards she split from her mother. She knew with the new abilities she had, her mother wouldn't be safe around her, and didn't want her to end up like Diesel. Soon after while she was alone Red Robin encountered her with
Cassie had finally had enough of the armor. The pain was too unbearable, and the armor was too strong. It finally took control of the girl, causing her to attack some of her teammates. Red Robin and Superboy arrived at the scene quickly enough to bring Wonder Girl to a more secluded location, out of the city to deal with the armor. The boys managed to separate the armor from Cassie, though just as they did her ex-boyfriend Diesel arrived after tracking her for months, and stole the armor back from her before leaving. Leaving the girl heartbroken, powerless, and angry. The three traveled back to where Cassandra found the armor in hopes to find out more about it when they encountered Diesel once again. He embraced the armor instead of fighting it like Cassandra. He had an army of blood minions with him that he had created from a drop of his own blood. Kidnapping Cassandra and leaving the boys to fight off the army. While alone with Diesel, Cassie realized that he would not stop, that he would go through with his plans. So she had no choice in her following actions. She still had control of the lariat, and commanded it to stop Diesel at all costs. It transferred the Silent Armor from Diesel, back into Cassandra's possession, killing Diesel in the process. Leaving Cassandra to bear the curse of the Silent Armor once again. Only this time, she was stronger, and she was not alone. |
Powers/AbilitiesCassie is the guardian of the Silent Armor. An armor created by very powerful ancient mages - It was said to be forged in the very core of the sun. It was passed on from warrior to warrior to fight against evil until it was lost and then found on Earth by Cassandra. The armor grants her great abilities such as flight, super strength, and extreme durability. The armor is derived from the golden war gauntlets she donned on herself in an attempt to save her ex-boyfriend Diesel. As well as the armor, she has a weapon called the lariat - it is similar to Wonder Woman's lasso in appearance, but abilities are much different. When used, she can drain the life force from any other living being. Though it is said that the armor itself is slowly draining her own life force.
The armor is one of the most powerful things on Earth, and was made to fight against the demon Trigon, and so Cassandra believes it's her right and responsibility to protect Earth from the wrathful demon. With every use of the armor, it's a battle for Cassandra to keep control of herself. The more power used, the harder it is to keep herself in control, but she knows if she was to ever lose the fight she constantly has within her, her friends and teammates the Teen Titans will be by her side to stop her. |
